So right before (and during) our trip to Boston Henry got onto the most amazing sleep schedule, at least compared to what it was. He would fall asleep at midnight, wake up at 3:30 or 4 for a quick nosh, then fall asleep until 6:30. While it didn't afford Dave and myself a ton of sleep, it was just enough to keep us (or at least me; I shouldn't speak for the young man) from feeling like the living dead. By the way, after having been sleep deprived for basically eight weeks, I can tell you it really is a luxury when traveling from point A to point B to remember exactly how you got to point B in the first place, especially when you had to drive to get there. If you're driving in central PA, be afraid. Anyway, back to the awesome sleep schedule: it no longer exists. He now falls asleep anywhere between midnight (if we're extraordinarily lucky) and 2AM and wakes up between 5 and 6. Also, the last few nights he's been waking up every 1-1.5 hours. What's that all about? He falls asleep easily when we hold him, but as soon as we put him down in his crib, his eyes pop open and he's wide awake. We think it's because he has major trouble tooting. You can hear him grunting and groaning trying to get the gas out. Sometimes he's successful, other times he breaks out into a loud wail and we have to go in and help him push it out. We have his two month checkup next week so we'll have to ask the doctor about it. I'm surprised Henry isn't super cranky because he seems to be just as tired as we are. Right now he's sleeping deeply in his vibratey chair which is a relief because he hasn't had more than a 15 minute nap at home in days which means I get to pay bills and do laundry and pick up the house without having to worry about him waking up any second. I've never enjoyed paying bills more than I have today.
