Still not sleeping through the night
Henry is still nowhere near sleeping through the night. In fact, it started to get worse in recent weeks. We can get him to sleep but once he's in his crib, his eyes pop open and he's all 'Hello world! I would like to stay up forever and ever and ever. Too bad there aren't any good clubs aren't here because I'm ready to get down. Can I get a "what-what"?' Anyway, we decided it's time to bring out the big guns. I researched various books by various people who say they know exactly how to get my kid to sleep and stay asleep, and decided that Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Dr. Weissbluth was the one for us. I frantically read a lot of the book yesterday and came up with a plan. Last night we put him down earlier than usual (at 6PM), gave him a smooch, and closed the door. He cried for a long while but slept for seven hours afterward, waking up every once in a while during that time only to soothe himself back to sleep. Hello! Tonight we put him down at 6PM again and he slept for half an hour and is now up and crying but he's also trying to soothe himself. We shall see how the night progresses...
